About this design
I became aware of the unique Pharoah Akhenaton from a documentary some ten years ago and was fascinated at his abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism.
Akhenaton tried to bring about a departure from traditional religion that in the end would not be accepted. Years later rulers discredited Akhenaton and his immediate successors, referring to Akhenaton himself as 'the enemy'
He further departed from tradition in the pictorial art he chose to represent himself and his family, with a more naturalistic aesthetic, less rigid than before or subsequently. The unique physical representation of Akhenaton, with long limbs, large cranium and curved posture have led to speculation that he and possibly his family members may have suffered from the genetic condition Marfan’s Syndrome.
Further speculation cites Akhenaton and his pioneering of monotheism as the inspiration to the biblical figure of Moses and the founding of Judaism
