About this design

Many innovative ideas are tried and tested in militaries across the globe, but this attempt by the Russians is one of the more bizaare.
Sometime during August in 1967, an American spy satellite captured images of a strange craft approximately 100m long travelling at 500 km/h across the Caspian Sea. They were unsure what the craft exactly was, hence the nickname, the Caspian Sea Monster.
It turned out to be a huge GEV (Grund Effect Vehicle), being developed by the Russian Navy.
Capable of carrying large loads at high speed, the Sea Monster would have been a great asset to the Soviets had the Cold War become a Hot War.
