About this design

This t-shirt design admires Britains Main Battle Tank, 'The Challenger 2', which is the third tank to use the Challenger name after the WW2 'A30 Challenger' and the 'Challenger 1 tank used in the 'original' Gulf War.
The Challenger 2 is regarded as one of the world's best Battle Tanks currently in service, sharing the top spot with the infamous M1A1/M1A2 Abrams of the US Army.
The Challenger 2 is equipped with a 120 mm 55 calibre L30A1 main gun, which is made from high strength ESR (Electro Slag Re-melting) steel with a chromium alloy lining, insulated by a thermal sleeve. The turret has a rotation time of 9 seconds through 360 degrees... impressive!
One of the Challenger 2's best aspects is its defence. It is regarded as the best protected tank in the world, with the turret and hull being protected with second generation Chobham armour, which the military claims to be 4 times stronger than hardened steel, yet lighter. It also has nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection systems located in its turret bustle.
Finally, on each side of the turret there are 5 smoke grenade dischargers or it can also create smoke by injecting diesel fuel into the exhaust manifolds.
A very capable tank, the Challenger 2 should be admired (or feared) depending on your allegiance.
