About this design
Charles Kingsford-Smith is an Australian pioneer aviator who began his career as a pilot in WW1 in the Australian Flying Corps . After the war, he went on to become famous for setting many new aviation records such as: The First non-stop crossing of the Australian mainland, first to cross the Pacific Ocean from USA to Australia and he won the England to Australia air race setting a new record in that also.
Sydney's main International airport is named after Kingsford-Smith and he is admired by many Australian aviation fans including myself! I have used his nickname "Smithy" in my design with a nice image of him and his famous aircraft, the "Southern Cross" underneath which he used on his Trans-Pacific flight.
