About this design

I feel sorry for Galileo, he contributed so much to science, especially astronomy but was cheated by his “friend” Pope Urban VIII. The Pope encouraged Galileo to write his book “Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems”, and actually gave Galileo formal authorization from the Inquisition and papal permission to write it. 

Once it was published, the reaction to the book from the religious community was not good and the Pope back-pedaled and failed to support him. 

Galileo was called to Rome to defend his writings and found “vehemently suspect of heresy”, forced to recant, and spent the rest of his life under house arrest.

In my design I have made a statement that Galileo could not make, “I am a heretic... and proud of it!”

I have also included Jupiter and its four largest moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) which were discovered by Galileo and are now called Galilean moons in his honor.
