Unfortunately, the P-40 doesn't have the greatest reputation among the WW2 fighters in action during the war, it was commonly known that the famous Mitsubishi Zero was much more manoeuvrable than the P-40 and it quickly came to be known as slow and second-rate. However the Zero was the best fighter of the time, better than any other opponent, not just the P-40.
The P-40 proved in combat that it could out maneuver many of its rivals. Other positive attributes of the P-40 were good armor, firepower, roll rate, and dive speed, making it one of the best low altitude fighters of the war. Japanese pilots rated the Warhawk their most dangerous foe at low altitude. (They considered the P-38 Lightning best at high altitude and the F4U Corsair the best overall).
The warhawk may not have been the best fighter, but it still rates highly on my list and is a striking aircraft to look at, especially with its trademark "shark's teeth" livery.
I think it deserves to be more appreciated and have therefore created this design, I hope you like it!
