About this design
Ptolemy is a controversial figure. He was a mathematician, astronomer, astrologer & geographer among other things living in Alexandria, Egypt under Roman rule around 100AD.
His most famous work was that on the geocentric theory in a form that prevailed for almost one & a half thousand years, however historians argue over his techniques. The arguments of some historians show that Ptolemy was a mathematician of the very top rank, arguments of others show that he was no more than a superb expositor, but far worse, some even claim that he committed a crime against his fellow scientists by betraying the ethics and integrity of his profession.
Whatever the truth may be, he will always remain as a memorable figure, especially in mathematics and astrology and I have used those subjects as a basis for my design.
