About this design
Born on May 24, 1956, Sean Kelly was the dominant classics rider in the 1980’s.
Kelly began his professional career in 1977. He won almost every important race on the calendar except the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia, and the World Championship Road Race. This picture on the t-shirt was taken by Phil O'Connor in Belgium at the De Panne time trial in 1986. It shows Kelly giving 100% like the hard man from Ireland always did!
Sean Kelly was tested at PDM for V02 Max, and they told him that he had the V02 Max of an average professional, Kelly replied "Does that thing measure pain?"
"Err no.. " "Well then .."
He went out to win a classic a week later..
