About this design
This T-shirt admires The War Of The Worlds, by H.G. Wells. It was first published (in serialized form) in Pearson's Magazine in 1897.
It was well received with only a few negative responses regarding the violent nature of some of the events in the story.
It wasn't until 30th October 1938 that War Of The Worlds really gained fame when it was read as a live radio broadcast by Orson Welles (no relation to HG Wells).
Both Orson and War Of The Worlds gained instant notoriety and fame on both a national and international level due to the style in which it was broadcast.
Although Welles did announce at the beginning of his broadcast that he was reading a fictional piece of writing, he went on to perform it in a style imitating news bulletins. This led the majority of listeners to believe that it was actually happening and that aliens were invading Earth!
